LOT NOTES
Moving to Nice after sharing a studio with Modigliani in Paris after 1917, Leopold Survage's style changed dramatically from his more cubist and geometric compositions, to neo-classical forms and natural subjects, especially after 1922. The current lot is a pristine example of Survage's neo-classical period, with bold lines and forms, depicting a simple Catalan village woman with a stately primitivism.

Estimate: $30,000 – $40,000

Result: $37,500 (including premium)
