LOT NOTESTekla Meladze, born in 2000 in Tbilisi, Georgia, was a childhood painting prodigy. at the age of 13, Tekla became the youngest participant in Art Expo New York, NY and the youngest participant ever of the 58th Venice Biennale, representing her home country Georgia. Since then Meladze exhibited nationally and internationally, including the 2022 show at On the Fringe Gallery, New York, NY 2022. Meladze's works take their roots in Georgia's ancient traditions, reflecting on the country's history of ancient gold mines, polyphony, kvervi, incredible nature and intangible and rich heritage of mankind. Gogi Khoshtaria, PhD, a leading researcher of G. Ghubinashvili Center for the History of Art and Cultural Heritage, writes:
"I have rarely met such talent. Tekla is very young, and I already see in her the vision and hand of a mature creator...The process of forming a new world is obvious. This is expressed in the monotonous application of gold paint, which introduces special sensations that put the picture between the verge of reality and irreality. This direction, can be called a new process the "Monotonism""CONDITIONObserved in frame, the painting is in good condition, minor surface grime. No visible issues to report.
